M.R. Pittman Group, LLC was a turnkey subcontractor taking the pump station from the “anchor bolts” up. All structural steel, roofing, electrical, mechanical, start up and commissioning was part of our contract. Project was awarded via the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) method, meaning the contractor was working side by side with designer to optimize design, reduce risk, and be cost efficient. From award to substantial completion and testing the project was complete in a little over 18 months and ahead of schedule. The completion of this project produced the largest single sector gate in the United States and the largest drainage pump station in the world, capable of pumping 9,000,000 gallons per minute. That is equivalent to fill approximately 13 Olympic size swimming pools in one minute.
